The Scholar

He tried to learn as many lessons
to furnish his hospitable mind;
prim-clothed his many persons,
revealing a self refined…

Gentle and well are his gestures
soft spoken goes his speech;
with strong will to endure lectures,
the cynics think him leech.

Wells are shallow, not as deep
as this madman’s curiosity–
a ticking mind, barely is asleep,
groping for evasive luminosity.
